How to style headband wigs?

Because the headband wig by Encelia Hair is 100% hand-tied, it can be worn up or down. Heat tools, like flat irons and curling irons, can also be used on all our hair types (Remy human hair, Luxury synthetic, and Heat-friendly or resistant synthetic). Below are some care tips:

TIPS FOR USING HEAT TOOLS | ALL ENCELIA WIGS

  • Before using heat tools, it's best to work small, slow, and low. If you follow this approach, you can style your wig in less than 15mins and without damaging the hair.
    • WORK SMALL: Less hair is better, grab less than a .5" inch of hair
    • ONE-PASS: Work slow so you only apply heat to the hair once - counting 1000, 10001, etc
    • LOW: Below is the ideal temperature for our specific hair types but heat-tools can be used on all of our hair.
      • Premium, Remy Human Hair: 285-305 degrees Fahrenheit or 140-150 Celsius
      • Luxury Synthetic: 285-305 degrees Fahrenheit or 140-150 Celsius.
      • Heat-Friendly Synthetic: 280-300 degrees or 137-148 Celsius.
    • HUMAN HAIR TIP: USE HEAT PROTECTOR SPRAY
      • Before you apply any heat to human hair, spray a heat protector on the hair because it will help lock the moisture in and prevent the hair from overheating which will cause the hair to dry out faster and eventually damage the hair.
    • SYNTHETIC HAIR TIP: LUXURY OR HEAT-RESISTANT
      • Use a water spray bottle, lightly spray a tiny amount of water on the synthetic hair to get a better result (luxury or heat-resistant hair)
PRODUCTS NEEDED TO STYLE YOUR HEADBAND WIG
  1. Heat protector spray (human hair only) - before you apply any heat to human hair, spray a heat protector on the hair because it will help lock the moisture in and prevent the hair from overheating which will cause the hair to dry out faster and eventually damage the hair.
  2. Petite rubber mannequin head - aka home base, this mannequin is petite, so it won't stretch out your wig; the rubber base allows you to easily secure your wig in place with wig pins, and the hairline outline will help you "set" your wig to maintain the "dome-like" shape of the head.
  3. Wig Pins - unlike t-pins, these pins won't pull the hair when you brush your wig
  4. Wig Brush - The flexible design of this brush will help you quickly and gently brush your wig without pulling on the hair and knots, which can cause shedding.
