No one wants to wear an unnatural, fake-looking wig. These are the main reasons why some wigs look more "wiggy" than others.

DENSITY

The majority of mass-market synthetic and human hair wigs are too dense so they look stiff on the head. The density of a wig will determine how the wig moves when you wear it.

At Encelia Hair, all of our wigs are made with a light to medium density; which we believe is the ideal density needed to make a wig look natural.

MOVEMENT & FLUIDITY

Your biological hair has a natural movement or fluidity to it. Unfortunately, mass market synthetic are stiff so they have almost no movement. Because the majority of human hair is over processed and coated with silicone, the hair has a super sleek, almost bone straight doll like look to it which gives it a wig like look to it.

Encelia Hair offers two kinds of hair 1) ethically sourced clean human hair 2) luxury synthetic.

• Our ethically sourced human hair is clean meaning it is free of silicone & textile dyes. Our slow processing method perserves the cuticle, which means that our hair will air dry smooth and has the natural movement of "normal" human hair.
• Our luxury synthetic has the same iconic structure, movement, & characteristics as European human hair. Because of it's fade resistance color technology, low shine, & silky feel this hair almost better than any other hair fiber on the market!

CAP CONSTRUCTION

Many women believe that if they just buy a European human hair wig that their wig will look realistic. Sadly, a lot more goes into the making of a natural-looking wig. Here are some things to consider:

• LACE FRONT

  • The most important part of the wig is the hairline. The lace front promised us a realistic, flawless natural looking hairline but sadly majority of lace front have really failed us. Most mass market wigs are made with a monofilament material, which is itchy and thicker so it is almost impossible fo it to blend into your skin tone. In additon, because lace fronts are delicate, to , most brands will use a double knotting techinique to increase durability but this makes the "dots" & "grids" very visible.

At Encelia Hair, we use single hand tied knots which is attached to swiss lace front which is soft and won't irritate your skin. The result is a very natural looking hairline at is invisible to the naked eye.

• TOP OF THE WIG

  • The second most important part of the wig is the top. There are so many terms of the top of the wig - lace top, silk top, mono top, skin-top, etc. Boy is it confusing! In short, you want the top of the wig to sit flat and you want it look like real scalp. Forgot all the over wigs on the market because you will consistently be worried about people looking at the top of your wig and you deserve better. The most realistic top is called a "french-drawn" top. A real french-drawn top means that a layer of silk is added in the middle and it gives the wig a unbelievably realistic look but a true french drawn top is hard to time and very expensive. Therefore, brands have come up with all kinds of terms that promise a "realistic top" but fail to deliver on that promise so be careful.

At Encelia Hair, the top of our wig is 100% hand tied so it can be parted anyway that you want. But, in order, to provide you with a "realistic scalp top" have added a 3" ultra-thin pu top. This ultra-thin pu section has the same look as a french drawn top but it is a fiction of the price to make, allowing us to offer you the same high quality look at an affordable price.

• CAP SIZE 

  • A loose-fitting wig fills you with worry and a wig that is too small gives you a headache. But, a wig that fits you well, will be comfortable, increase your confidence and it will make wearing a wig a breeze. Most women don't realize how important it is to have a wig that fits you well. Sadly, most mass produced wigs only come in three sizes - petite, average, & large. Although this is good, it isn't enough. Because the shape/size of the head, is small, the difference between a wig that fits well is minor - 1/4" difference will literally make your wig feel too tight or too big so it is very important to order the right wig size.

THE CUT 

Although the majority of mass market wigs, comes in a variety of different hair styles they still need to be cut to fit you. You already know that you are not a mannequin or the model wearing the wig. The shape of your forehead, cheekbones, neck length is unique to you. Your wig should be cut to show off your features so take the time to find a good stylist and have your wig cut so that it looks & feels as natural as it possibly can.
