How to curl a human hair wig?Updated a month ago

Curling a human hair wig is easy and can be done in less than 10 minutes. Below is a detailed tutorial and step-by-step guide:

PRODUCTS NEEDED TO CURL YOUR HUMAN HAIR WIG

  1. Petite rubber mannequin head - aka home base, this mannequin is petite, so it won't stretch out your wig; the rubber base allows you to easily secure your wig in place with wig pins, and the hairline outline will help you "set" your wig to maintain the "dome-like" shape of the head.
  2. Curling Iron
    • Beachy Waves (loose & bouncy)use a 1.5" - 2" size barrel
    • Glamorous Curls (wavy & curly) use a 1.25"-1" size barrel
    • Tight curls use a 3/4"-3/8" size barrel
  3. Stable heavy tripod
  4. Wig Pins - unlike t-pins, these pins won't pull the hair when you brush your wig
  5. Argan Oil - This argan oil will moisturize and soften your human hair wig without weighing it down
  6. Blow Dry Heat Protecting Spray - This lightweight heat spray repels water, which protects the hair against heat while speeding up the drying process, which will prevent breakage and prolong the lifespan of your human hair wig.
  7. Wig Brush - The Flexible design of this brush will help you quickly and gently brush your wig without pulling on the hair and knots, which can cause shedding.
  8. Wig Setting Brush | Teasing Brush - This unique boar/nylon teasing brush will help you easily redirect the knots/hair on the wig, making it the ultimate wig tool for your weekly wash.

HOW TO CURL YOUR HUMAN HAIR WIG | STEP BY STEP

Be gentle, like you're washing a baby. Excessive pulling on the hair can cause the knots to loosen and the hair to shed.
  1. Place Wig On Mannequin
    • Place your wig on mannequin head and put sewing pins or t pins just above the stays in the ear tab section of the wig
  2. Brush your wig
    • Using your wig brush, brush the wig out. Starting at the bottom and working your way to the top
  3. Set temperature
    • Setup the temperature of the curling iron or flat iron to 280-300 degrees Fahrenheit
  4. Work from bottom to top
    • Working from the bottom to the top, grab 1" inch of hair at the bottom and clip the remainder of the hair away.
  5. Heat Protector & 1/2" sections
    • Spray the hair with the heat protector or blow dry spray, this will prevent the hair from drying out. Brush the hair to evenly distribute the product throughout the hair then grab a 1/2" of hair and clip the remainder of the hair away.
  6. Starting Curling
    • Starting in the middle section, wrap the hair and just lightly touching the ends. NOTE: the ends are delicate so try to minimize the time under heat to a few seconds
    • Alternative left and right
    • Beachy Waves (loose & bouncy)use a 1.5" - 2" size barrel
    • Glamorous Curls (wavy & curly) use a 1.25"-1" size barrel
    • Tight curls use a 3/4"-3/8" size barrel
  7. Evening routine
    • When your not wearing your wig, place it on the mannequin head and wrap a hair net over the hair this will help the curls should last all week

That's it, your done!
